Notice on Data Collection about Chinese Laborers on the Central Pacific Railroad Construction
1869年5月10日，第一条横贯北美大陆的太平洋铁路在美国犹他州奥格登的普罗蒙特利丘陵合龙，这条对于美国国家各项发展意义重大的大铁路宣告建成。在这条大铁路的建设过程中，数以万计来自中国的劳工承担起了工程中最艰难的路段，他们凭借简陋的工具、顽强的意志和集体的智慧，在恶劣的自然环境中开山铺路，出色地提前完成这条铁路的建设。令人遗憾的是，随着时间的逝去，由于当时华工信息记载不完整、后续去向不明等原因，现在能找到的华工及其后代的资料寥寥无几。 On May 10, 1869, the Pacific Railroad, the first railroad across the North American continent, closed at the Promemont Valley in Ogden, Utah, United States. As thus the railway that held great significance to the development of the United States was declared completed. During the construction of this railway, tens of thousands of laborers from China took on the toughest work, paving the way in poor natural environment with crude tools, tenacious will and collective wisdom. They completed the construction of the railway in advance. With the passage of time, due to the incomplete records of the information about the laborers at that time and unknown whereabouts about them afterwards, it is a pity that little information is available about the Chinese laborers and their descendants.  2017年我馆举办《跨越时空的回响——纪念150年前美国铁路建设中的华工》展览，就是为了更好地纪念这些默默无闻却又付出巨大努力与代价的筑路者们。2019年是美国中央太平洋铁路建成通车150周年，借此之际，我馆为完善馆藏及充实展览内容，现面向国内外征集有关美国中央太平洋铁路华工及后裔的藏品、资料及相关线索。 In 2017, our museum held an exhibition titled "Echoes Across Time and Space: Commemorating the Chinese Laborers on the American Railway Construction 150 Years Ago" to commemorate these obscure railroad builders who had made tremendous contributions. The year 2019 will mark the 150th anniversary of the opening of the Central Pacific Railway. 征集范围
1.反映美国中央太平洋铁路华工家族、后裔信息（如家谱、县志、地方志等）。Scope of Collection The things that carry information about the Chinese laborers working on the Central Pacific Railway and their descendants, such as the genealogy, county annals, annals of local history, etc. 2. 反映华工赴美和修建铁路时工作或生活中使用的物品和资料（如工具、生活用品、家书、证件、合同、档案及照片等）。 The articles and materials of the Chinese laborers when they went to the United States and were working on the railway, such as the tools, daily necessities, letters from home, documents, contracts, files and photos, etc. 3.反映美国中央太平洋铁路华工的音像资料、书籍和报纸。 Audiovisual materials, books and newspapers about the Chinese laborers working on the Central Pacific Railway. 4.有关美国中央太平洋铁路华工的艺术作品。 The works of art related to the Chinese laborers working on the Central Pacific Railway. 5.美国中央太平洋铁路相关纪念物（如纪念币、明信片等）。 The souvenirs related to the Central Pacific Railway, such as commemorative coins and postcards, etc. 6.美国中央太平洋铁路相关物品（如道钉、铁轨等）。 The article related to the Central Pacific Railway, such as rail spikes and tracks, etc.  联系方式 Contact Information
